Rizeup

The artists at Urban Paradise Gallery in Surfers Paradise are set to host an exhibition to take a stance against domestic violence from March 16 – 30. The Artists for Domestic Bliss exhibition will be held to raise awareness and funding for RizeUp, a Not-for-Profit organisation devoted to supporting the brave families affected by domestic and family violence. The fundraiser will help assist RizeUp in providing practical assistance to the families leaving violence behind with their ‘Rapid Response’, ‘At Home’ and ‘Rize4Liam’ programs.

The exhibition will incorporate a series of large (160x100cm) black and white photographs of Urban Paradise artists by Brad Kay, printed as part of the Inside Out Global Art Project by French artist J.R. This award winning global participatory project transforms messages of personal identity into works of public art, opening up the opportunity for people to share their portrait and make a statement for what they stand for. On the night, guests will be asked to leave their own coloured mark on the portraits, creating another layer to the artwork.
