With the increasing amount of interest in Latin music the Gold Coast is blessed with numerous opportunities to join the Latin revolution. Southport Sharks has booked Oz Latin Brothers to perform a live show on July 18 to give people a chance to see real Latin musicians at work.

With an extensive repertoire including salsa, cha cha, mambo, disco, funk and Top 40s –  mixed with their unique Latin flavour  – Oz Latin Brothers are not only loved by Latin dancing audiences but all types of music aficionados. Oz Latin Brothers is made up of four family members who have been playing together for 12 years, namely, Manfred Ugarte (lead vocals, pianist) James Ugarte (bass guitar, backing vocals), Shannon Ugarte (saxophone, backing vocals) and Paul Ugarte (trumpet, backing vocals).

The band recently released their first original EP, titled My Universe, which is available on iTunes and CD Baby. It samples their musical influences, infusing pop, Latin, reggae and house. Based on the Gold Coast, Oz Latin Brothers have previously performed at events such as the Bacardi Festival and the Darling Harbour Latin Festival in Sydney, plus the Woodford Folk Festival. Entry to the gig is free and the show starts from 8:30pm.
