This Mother’s Day weekend, treat mum’s tastebuds to some international fare at the decadent Sofitel High Tea. Taking over French-inspired restaurant Room 81 on Saturday May 13 and Sunday May 14, this drool-worthy spread of sweet and savoury treats is sure to impress even the most hard-to-win-over mum.

Guests will be treated to a glass of champagne on arrival, before digging into an array of high-tea delights like petit truffled egg finger sandwiches, house-smoked salmon French toast, chicken and tarragon pinwheels, spinach and chevre frittata and perhaps the most taste bud-tantalising snack of all, the Moreton Bay bug brioche roll.

On the sweet side, executive French pastry chef Joel Helot has created a number of treats that are sure to dazzle the senses. High-tea favourite, vanilla scones with clotted cream and house preserve, will be available to munch on alongside some decadent additions like classic madeleines, chocolate brownies, strawberry and white-chocolate mousse and rocky road. Of course, you can wash it all down with tea and coffee – just don’t forget to pop your pinky!
