5 Days of Dust

Whilst we wouldn’t normally consider a five-year-old’s party something to write about, we’ll make an exception for Dust Temple’s 5 Days of Dust. To honour five excellent years of fearless creativity and grit, Dust is hosting a five-day festival that incorporates live music, incredible art, fine food and maybe even a cold beverage or two.

Wednesday May 23 – Exhibition Opening and Cards Against Humanity
The party kicks off with the Spencer Shakespeare Exhibition Opening in the Dust Temple Gallery from 5:00–8:00 pm. Browse current works from the English born, Tallebudgera residing artist before moving outside to the new outdoor area, which is affectionately known as Bothy for a rousing game of Cards Against Humanity. Leave all possibility of being offended at the door and be prepared to play the cards you are dealt. There will be food and refreshments available and the game will run from 6:00–9:30 pm. Entry is free.

Thursday May 24 – Life Drawing
Life Drawing Sessions steps out of the gallery and onto the courtyard with an open invitation for all to attend. Featuring two models draped in white and the jazz two-piece Cowboy Spaziale, this night is set to intrigue your artistic eye. For those who have never had the opportunity to share in the experience that is Life Drawing Sessions, we welcome all artists and non-artists alike to participate or watch on as we perform one of the most traditional and historical art practices. Warm hearty food available. The session is from 6:30–9:00 pm and is $11 online or $12 at the door.

Friday May 25 – Karl S. Williams
Welcome the weekend with a little live music from Karl S. Williams and his musical mates. If you’re yet to experience a set from the blues soulman, you’re in for a real treat.
