We don’t know about you, but for us, the year only really begins in February. Hear us out. January kind of rolls into this humid post-holiday haze, but by the time February hits we’re ready to venture out and soak up all of the remaining summertime goodness. If you too are keen to squeeze the most out of your summer with spritz-filled soirees, budget-friendly bites and dazzling divas, we have a pretty excellent idea about where you should spend the rest of the balmy season …

Half-price pizza! Great, now that we’ve got your undivided attention, allow us to elaborate – until the end of March, The Star’s celebrated Italian dining destination Cucina Vivo is slinging half-price pizzas when you dine before 6:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Then, come Friday, you’re invited to usher in the weekend with Italian bites and Aperol cocktails on the terrace for Cin Cin. The weekly sundowner sesh rolls out every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 3:00–6:30 pm. Keen to keep on sipping and snacking? We hear you. For those with a thirst for adventure (and sweet sips), the Rosé Your Way session on Saturdays and Sundays is right up your alley. Purchase a Rosé Passport and make your way around four of The Star’s varied venues, sipping on a glass of the blush-hued beverage accompanied by a tasting plate. The culinary adventure doesn’t end there, no siree. Skip over to Kiyomi for a Sake Flight Tasting. It’s the ideal way to kick off your night and wet your whistle before dinner, or to finish the evening on a sake-soaked high note. Oh, speaking of, this is your last chance to eat your body weight in succulent roasted duck, Singapore noodles, sweet-and-sour pork, fried rice and spring rolls at Harvest Buffet’s Lunar New Year celebrations. The Asian delights will only be available as part of the regular buffet spread until the end of February, so consider yourself warned.

Okay, so that’s the food side of things sorted, but what about the tunes? Picture this – a star-lit dancefloor, cool cocktails and live DJs spinning all of your favourite jams. Sounds pretty great, right? On Saturday February 12, revellers can catch a free set from Australian DJ and producer Lowdown at Live on The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar, followed by YO! MAFIA on Friday February 25. Back it up with a scorching-hot set from K.I.M., one-half of the iconic Australian dance-music duo The Presets on Saturday February 26. If you’re looking for something a little more, The Theatre is the place to go with a sizzling summer line-up including We Can Be Heroes on February 11. The incredible orchestral show is a musical tribute to the man who fell to Earth, the late, great David Bowie and will feature songs from his entire songbook including ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Starman’, ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Life On Mars?’. Sooshi Mango will have audiences in stitches with their brand-new live show Off The Boat on Friday February 18. Then, on Saturday February 26, pay homage to the one-and-only Aretha Franklin with the electrifying show RESPECT. Since you’ve already got your diary open, go ahead and block out Thursday March 24 for Jawbreakers. The dynamic drag duo, comprised of Melbourne drag queens Kali Fornikate and Sabrina Babyslut, will bring their larger-than-life presence to Atrium Bar and it’s guaranteed to be a damn fine time.
