Lunar New Year at The Star

Lunar New Year at The Star

Usher in the Year of the Dragon with two weeks of festivities to celebrate the Lunar New Year at The Star. From February 9 to 24, you’re invited to visit the bright red Wishing Tree in the foyer and write down your hopes for 2023. Once you’ve cast your wish, catch one of the vibrant Lion Dance performances before heading to any of The Star’s superb Asian restaurants. For a feast fit for a dragon, make haste to book a table at Uncle Su. Over the Chinese New Year period, the Gold Coast Cantonese favourite is offering a standout yum cha banquet special featuring all of your traditional yum cha favourites to the more exotic braised abalone, deep-fried coral trout and crispy pork belly. If you and the family are on the hunt for the ultimate indulgence, look no further than Harvest Buffet, which is serving Asian inspired dishes all month. Delight in roasted duck, Singapore noodles, sweet-and-sour pork and egg fried rice all bound to deliver lashings of good luck and tasty memories. Combining the season of love with Lunar New Year, The Star’s resident dumpling house Mei Wei Dumplings is serving up a special mouth-watering dish for two with Alaskan hot chilli crab and seasonal vegetables, served on a bed of steamed rice. A very happy new year indeed.
