Keep summer sizzling this month at the Garden Kitchen & Bar

Summer may be on the way out but we haven’t felt a cool change just yet, so we’ll be spending these next few weeks soaking up all the balmy nights that we can. The Star Gold Coast has all of your sun-kissed afternoons sorted throughout February, with margaritas flowing and gifts to take home. Whether you choose to recline on the Deck or sprawl out on the Lawn, there’s a sunny spot for everyone to stretch out the summer vibes.

As the sun dips during February, saunter onto The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar to bathe in the sounds of the season with big-name DJs and renowned local artists keeping things hot. With this month’s line-up including DJ Jason van Miert, India Dupriez, Chris Bent, Bazil, Libre and Late Nite Tuff Guy, unique beats will be served up live and free every Friday and Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon.

If you’re a fan of  margaritas (who isn’t?), February is the month dedicated to celebrating the classic cocktail (like we need an excuse). The Star is honouring the occasion with a whole menu of margaritas to try. Start with a classic Tommy’s and then move onto a more adventurous one like grapefruit, watermelon or passionfruit.

Complement a couple of salt-rimmed margs with an indulgent seafood platter from the Garden Kitchen & Bar featuring fresh oysters, mussels and tiger prawns. We highly recommend adding the calamari with yuzu aioli for a zesty kick.

You also can’t go past a signature charcuterie board of locally sourced cured meats featuring native flavours, pickled vegetables, Grana Padano and crispbread for nibbling on at your picnic table while soaking in the Live on the Lawn acts.

If you’re looking for a feast, amplify your Live on The Lawn balmy evenings at the Container Kitchen – located just a few footsteps from your picnic table. Wrap your hands around flavoursome fare like fried-chicken sandos, prawn tacos, fried cheeseburger dumplings and decadent loaded fries. Pair your spread of snacks with sips from Garden Kitchen & Bar’s stellar cocktail menu, then sink into splendour and enjoy a night of live music and great vibes.

Being the month of love, the Garden Kitchen & Bar is the ideal location for a casual or formal date night. With seasonal delights lovingly prepared in the Garden Kitchen, you can declare your love as you and your bae share a 200-day grain-fed tomahawk steak. Finish your night on a sweet note with a specialty ice-cream sandwich.

If finding the right gift isn’t your forte, let The Star do the hard work for you. From February 19 to March 31, diners will receive a free bottle of wine to take home when they dine for lunch at the Garden Kitchen & Bar from Friday to Sunday, with a minimum spend of $75 per person. Take a little of the Garden home with you and keep summer going all year round, or at least for a few more weeks.
