Lockdown locks no more – EdwardsAndCo arrives on Ada Lane ready to transform tresses
Look, there’s no tip-toeing around it – quarantine hasn’t been kind to our mops. At-home haircuts and dye jobs were the norm for a hot minute and this has left our hair looking (and us feeling) slightly sadder than usual. That’s why the arrival of EdwardsAndCo just off Fortitude Valley’s leaf-lined James Street is a saving grace – for both our mane and our mental wellbeing.
Opening its doors this week, EdwardsAndCo’s eighth Australian salon has found its home on Ada Lane, in the Calile Hotel’s retail and lifestyle precinct. The space, which has taken inspiration from the Calile Hotel’s Richards and Spence-designed aesthetic, is sleek and minimal in design, lined with eye-catching wall art and plenty of fresh greenery. The salon, which houses 40 chairs, has room to fit a team of more than 30 stylists at full capacity. Though whilst strict social distancing measures are still in place, EdwardsAndCo can host up to ten clients whose details must be kept on record for safety purposes. The salon also has a number of safety measures in place to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff including social distancing (at least 1.5 metres between each station), body temperature testing for both staff and clients, regular disinfecting and more.
Bringing together a team of award-winning and innovative hair stylists, the new salon will continue EdwardsAndCo’s reputation for being one of the top hair salons in the game. Known for haircuts and colours that turn heads, the salon specialises in creamy blondes tones, caramel tips and rich brunette shades. The Insta-famous sun-kissed highlights, styled in glossy mermaid waves has become synonymous with the salon’s success – and hey, we can see why. Whether you’re looking to do a small update or a total transformation, you’ll score it here.
