Walter’s Steakhouse celebrates top-quality producers at A Cut Above

There’s something about the distinct scent of meat sizzling on the stove top that has the ability to suddenly get our tummies rumbling. It’s this particular aroma that lures in carnivorous crowds to inner-city stalwart Walter’s Steakhouse, a charming New York-inspired eatery that serves up mouth-watering meaty morsels. The Walter’s team is sweetening the pot with culinary event A Cut Above, which will see six top-notch producers and suppliers come together for an unforgettable epicurean event.

Settle in for an evening of eating and drinking on Tuesday November 8, as that’s when Walter’s Steakhouse is hosting an unmissable feast of fanciful fare, A Cut Above. This culinary showcase will see Walter’s Steakhouse executive chef Gert Pretorius band together with six key producers and suppliers to celebrate both their product and passion for fresh, quality produce. The talented team-up includes the likes Megan Nunn of Winnifred’s, Debbie Oliver of Lady Truffle Fine Foods, Umar Nguyen of The Fish Girl, Charisse Ladner of Gooralie Free Range Pork, Rebecca Willson of Bremerton Wines and Karen Reyment of Fino Foods.

Gert has drawn from his own background and stories to curate a mouth-watering menu of dishes, with each course served with a matching champagne or wine. The sumptuous spread will feature the likes of local wild mushrooms with brioche french toast, beurre noisette snow, truffle and egg yolk, fire-roasted shellfish with blistered tomato, smoked kaiserfleisch and charcoal, and Gooralie pork scotch neck with peas, radish, baby carrot and cacao-nib soil. It’ll finish off on a sweet note with Hunted and Gathered Ghana chocolate mousse with yeasted caramel and buttered crumble. This sophisticated dining experience will be hosted in the private dining rooms at Walter’s Steakhouse on Tuesday November 8 at 6:30 pm. Tickets, which are $275 per person, are strictly limited so we suggest popping over to the Walter’s Steakhouse website pronto to secure yours.
