Trichotomy

Trichotomy launches new album at Judith Wright Centre

Pairing minimalist moments with intense, energetic improvisation, the fifth album from Brisbane jazz lads Trichotomy exhibits the deepening progression of this 14-years-young trio.

The provoking album in question is dubbed Fact Finding Mission and will see its debut at the Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley this Saturday March 9. Formerly known as Misinterprotato, Trichotomy spiced things up with a name change last year, with this new album further evidence of the group’s modern and imaginative sound continuing to grow.

On stage for the album launch this weekend will be Sean Foran (piano), John Parker (drums) and Pat Machisella (acoustic bass), with special appearances from James Muller (guitar), Tunji Beier (percussion) and Linsey Pollack (reeds) lending European and Indian folk traditions to a selection of new tracks. Fact Finding Mission will be available on CD and a limited-edition vinyl for the true sound nerd.
