Experience a working country farm at the Felton Food Festival

Do something different with your market and food immersion this weekend and take a trip out towards Toowoomba to the Felton Valley on the Darling Downs and experience a charming country food festival.

The less than two-hour drive to the Felton Food Festival will be well worth it as you transition from the bustling city of Brisbane to a working country farm in the picturesque and productive Felton Valley. Breathe some country air, slow down and immerse yourself in the delights of country life. The Felton Food Festival connects lovers of food, families and farmers as well as providing the true paddock-to-plate experience. Now in its fifth year, the festival has built a strong reputation as a day to experience the land and celebrate authentic country life. Mingle amongst the market stalls, take a crop tour, meet a local farmer, attend a cooking demonstration or pick a spot at the barbecue or bar. There are roaming chooks and other farm animals, garden and celebrity chefs, a kids’ tent, a farming Q&A tent and tasting opportunities galore.

Festival special guests for 2016 include Costa Georgiadis (the loveable gardener who is back by popular demand), Ready Steady Cook’s Matt Golinski, conservationist, horticulturalist and plant curator Jerry Colby-Williams, co-founder of the Brisbane Farmers Market Alison Alexander and for the first time, chef Glen Barratt.

The Felton Bar will be serving local beer from Granite Belt Brewery and local wine from Between Two Rocks Winery. With the festival running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday April 10 there will be plenty of opportunity to stop by for a refreshing drink and meet some of the locals.
