Winter has finally arrived on the Gold Coast, which means mulled wine and belly-warming comfort foods, think slow-cooked lamb shoulder that falls apart with just a nudge, racks of sticky, saucy ribs and hearty stews. With that in mind, we’ve round-up some of the coast’s top carnivorous feasts to sink your teeth into.

Bazaar: Redefining the entire concept of the buffet, Bazaar at QT Gold Coast dishes up a rotating selection of mouth-watering meats, from crispy-skinned whole suckling pig to herb roasted free-range chicken and beautifully tender wood-oven roasted lamb. You may need to loosen the belt a notch or two in anticipation because as soon as you get a glimpse of the sumptuous spread, your eyes will light up like a kid on Christmas morning.

Black Angus Bar and Grill: If you’re serious about steak, a visit to Black Angus at Sanctuary Cove is a must. As its name suggests, the venue specialises in premium cuts of beef however the venue’s piece de resistance is a 270-day grain fed Wagyu sirloin with a marble score of seven. Skip straight to the oven daily shares section of the menu and feast on massive T-bone steaks sliced off the bone, charred whole free-range chickens, Texan barbecue ribs and super slow-cooked lamb shoulders. The menu suggests they are meant for sharing but no one would blame you if you didn’t.

Garden Kitchen & Bar: Aside from the magnificent fit-out, one of the first things you’ll notice when you step into Garden Kitchen & Bar at Jupiters Hotel & Casino is the aroma of meat roasting away from the open kitchen. The Chef’s Rotisserie offers a constantly evolving selection of meat including succulent lamb, pork and chicken and is designed for sharing.

Hank Dining & Bar: Seek solace from the cold with a plate of Hank’s six-hour braised pork belly with puffed pork skin that is still popping when it arrives at your table.
