Pavement Whispers: The coast is set to score a flashy new rooftop bar

If you’ve driven past HOTA of late, it’s fairly likely you caught a glimpse of the eye-popping new HOTA Gallery – which is set to open in May. Well, friends, it’s been revealed that it will also house a brand-new rooftop bar and dining venue cheekily named The Exhibitionist Bar. The flashy new watering hole will be located on level five and here’s what we know so far …

The Exhibitionist Bar will be centred around a sophisticated tapas-style bar menu with specialty sips including crafted cocktails, an extensive wine list, house-made sodas and local craft beer. The upmarket experience is set to add another element to HOTA’s impressive entertainment offering – providing the perfect place to enjoy a pre-show bite, champagne at sunset or post-show cocktail. The specific menu is being kept under wraps for the moment but the bar will be headed by Tom Angel, who was once named as one of the Top 100 bartenders in Australia at the Diageo World Class Competition (aka the world’s largest cocktail-making contest), so suffice to say there will be some seriously impressive swill on offer.

The Exhibitionist Bar will be located within the new HOTA Gallery building and feature a combination of indoor and outdoor spaces to make the most of the mesmerising view in all directions. The colourful  facade was inspired by William Robinson’s stunning painting, The Rainforest, and will carry elements through to the fit-out and theming of The Exhibitionist Bar. According to HOTA’s head of culinary arts, David Ashford, the vision was to create an iconic venue that provides a memorable experience. Cocktails at sunset? We’re in!

As always, we’ll have all of the delicious details as they come to light so watch this space.
