Adventure up north this winter for Sunshine Coast’s premier food-fest The Curated Plate

Grab your winter warmers, schedule your next road trip and whet that appetite – The Curated Plate is back for 2024. This July 26 to August 4, the Sunshine Coast will celebrate its culinary culture with 90 delicious events over ten days, ranging from long lunches to beer festivals, cooking classes, farm tours and so much more. Keep reading to find out the 2024 program …

Dishing up 90 food-themed events, The Curated Plate 2024 is the festival’s most ambitious outing yet, uniting local producers, suppliers and chefs to tell their stories through the power of food. Once again, the festival will be headlined by the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival, presented by Spicers Tamarind Retreat and backdropped by the green fields of Maleny. Running from August 3–4, a luxe line-up of kitchens is set to dish up some delicious Asian fare – from The Tamarind to Rice Boi and Spirit House. Pack your picnic blanket and unwind on the green with some sensational street food and pop-up bars from Sunshine Coast’s own beverage producers (think: Brouhaha Brewery Maleny, Sunshine and Sons Cocktail Bar, Brockenchack Wines and House of Taittinger). The 2024 edition will be launching Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry live at The Station – a first-of-its-kind event on July 28, showcasing more than 70 of the region’s top producers and makers. Sample, savour and shop from a leading array of cheesemongers, bakers, chocolatiers, butchers, beekeepers, coffee roasters and so many more. For more hands-on time with the region’s tastemakers, snag tickets to Chefs in Conversation, hosted at Altitude 9 on July 27. This inspiring panel event will see celebrity cook Hayden Queen chat with four of the Sunshine Coast’s most celebrated chefs: Peter Kuruvita (former Head Chef Alba), Tom Hitchcock (Head Chef of Spirit House) and Cameron Mathews (Head Chef of Mapleton Pub) and Stacey Conner (Head Chef / Owner of Humble on Duke). You’ll start the afternoon with a signature cocktail and end with a meet and greet for even more face time with these foodie faves.

Hungry for more? Fortunately, there’s plenty more on the menu. Learn from the Spirit House at special Cooking Classes, have tea with Adriano Zumbo at Maleny’s Tiffany’s, dine on the Deck at Harry’s on Buderim and fall down the rabbit hole with the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Yanalla Farm. Plus, culinary cruises, degustation dinners, long lunches and brunches.
