Surfers Paradise welcomes a beautiful new $1.59 million sip spot – Lulu Rooftop & Bar
Perched high above Orchid Avenue is the glitter strip’s newest watering hole – Lulu Rooftop & Bar. The spectacular new $1.59 million entertainment destination is the latest from Australian Venue Co. and sets the scene for bubble-filled brunches, long lunches and sun-drenched afternoons that roll effortlessly into the evening. Here’s everything you need to know about Lulu …
Gold Coast, meet Lulu. Not just a pretty face, although she is indeed beautiful, Lulu Rooftop & Bar is set to become the go-to spot for a fun, party-centric atmosphere with a touch of retro glam. Transforming the former Sofi Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, the new venue melds Miami’s electric art deco style with some of the Gold Coast’s signature beachside charm – think modern furnishings, abundant greenery and booth seating.
Commanding attention is the striking ‘Miami Vice turned Surfers Paradise’ wallpaper that was created by local artist Jamie Peter. The hero, however is undoubtedly the show-stopping LuLu Frosé Wall, which is sure to be a hit this summer. With six different boozy frosé flavours to choose from including passionfruit Long Island iced tea and frozen squashie, you can even pimp your beverage with a range of lollies at the DIY candy station. If frosé is not your drink of choice, there’s an extensive cocktail selection that sets the tone for every occasion, featuring classics such as pornstar martinis alongside signatures such as the Lulu spritz.
But what of the food? We got you – the menu created by executive chef Justin Wise draws inspiration from beachside classics that celebrate fresh and seasonal ingredients. Munch on plates of mini tuna tacos, popcorn chicken and grilled corn ribs from the sharing section, or skip straight to the ‘hand held’ page and feast on the likes of the Lulu Bug Club (garlic-butter poached Moreton Bay bug, bacon, shellfish mayo, tomato and dill). Rounding out the offering are skewers of wagyu beef and swordfish alongside some vibrant summer-inspired salad bowls.
To ensure the vibe is right, DJs will bring a mix of genres to the space every Thursday to Sunday, from sun-kissed days with laid-back house tempos that roll into peak sunset nu-disco sessions and finishing with a late-night, high-octane landscape of tech-house headliners.
From sunset sessions to weekend brunches and late-night escapades, Lulu Rooftop & Bar has you well and truly covered.
