Snobby’s Wine Bar & Bistro opens in Nobby Beach

The bustling strip at Nobbys has welcomed a sophisticated new venue to the mix, Snobby’s Wine Bar & Bistro. While its name may have raised a few eyebrows, the establishment assures patrons it is Snobby’s by name, not by nature.

Snobby’s Wine Bar & Bistro has transformed the former District 21 and The Cave into a trendy wine bar that showcases an extraordinary variety of drops from Australia and abroad. The vino is stored in temperature-controlled fridges to ensure everything is served at its ideal temperature. The best part is, many of the wines are available by the glass so you can afford to stray from your standard sauvignon blanc. If wine isn’t your tipple of choice, Snobby’s also offers craft beers and a fine selection of cocktails including the Nibble Nobby’s Mango, which is basically summer in a cup.

Alongside beverages of the alcoholic kind, Snobby’s offers a modest but elegant shared food menu that has been expertly crafted by head chef Evan Seaward to showcase local, organic and sustainable produce. Make your way through the tasters menu filled with delights such as beef cheek arancini topped with rocket mint pesto and parmesan and the Snobby’s cheese board or head straight for the shared plates that are conveniently separated in small and large helpings. The crispy pork belly with toffee apple puree and hefty char grilled hanger steak with black garlic paste, salsa verde and bordelaise jus have been some of the popular standouts. As promised, the mature new venue offers a refined setting to enjoy a perfectly chilled wine and a bite without pretension.
