Golf, pizza and beer at Slice Virtual Golf in Surfers Paradise

If you fancy a few holes of golf but begrudge having to chase your ball through the roughs after each swing, Slice Virtual Golf in Surfers Paradise is right up your alley. It’s just like the real deal only with pizza and beer.

Unlike regular golf courses where you have to wait until the 19th hole to sink some suds, at Slice Virtual Golf you can eat and drink in between shots. In fact, they encourage that kind of reckless abandon with a fully stocked bar and pizzas by the metre. No, that’s not a typo, they actually serve pizzas by the metre. That’s 100 glorious centimetres of deliciously crispy base slathered with house-made sauce and finished with tasty toppings such as Yankee-style hot dogs, bacon, double smoked ham, caramelised onion and gooey melted cheese (that’s the Tiger Hot Dog pizza, in case you were wondering). Each one contains 32 generous slabs but if you’re not quite that hungry, the pizzas are also available by the quarter and half-metre.

The new virtual golf course contains eight booths housing state-of-the-art camera-based simulators and 110 famous golf courses including Augusta, Pebble Beach and St. Andrews Beach. You don’t have to be a golf professional to play, on the contrary, Slice caters to people who are just there for food through to those looking to perfect their swing. Grab some buds and commandeer a booth at Slice Virtual Golf for a hit, a novelty-sized pizza and a couple of cold ones.
