The round-up: naughty but nice eats on the Gold Coast

We’re already three weeks into 2016 and chances are you’ve abandoned some (all) of your new years resolutions, especially the one that involves eating more wholesome and nourishing food (hot chips are nourishing right?). To help keep you on track, we’ve round-up a few naughty but nice eats for the times when a salad just won’t cut it.

San Choi Cup Burger
Where from:
Burger Lounge
Enjoy the same satisfying feeling of sinking your teeth into a delicious Wagyu and truffle burger sans the guilt with the ol’ san choi cup option at Kirra’s Burger Lounge. Nestled between two crunchy lettuce leaves, the bun-less option is all of the taste without the carbs, it just takes all of your willpower to order it. BurgerFuel, Brooklyn Depot and Ze Pickle also offer naked burg’s for your eating pleasure.

Deconstructed Hotdog
Where from:
The Wiener Haus
Upping the ante on the humble hotdog, The Wiener Haus dishes up authentic German smoked sausages in a delectable array of flavours including the Something About Mary; beans, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños. For a lighter option, shun the bun and enjoy deconstructed in a bowl.

Buckini Body Bowl
Where from:
Goodness Gracias
Goodness Gracias is filling the void for delicious, fresh and healthy takeaway food that doesn’t break the bank. The menu offers a mouthwatering selection of burritos, tacos and zesty, flavourful salads and grain bowls that are loaded with deliciousness. Keep your #cleaneating on track with the Buckini Body Bowl, a satisfying combination of spinach, kale, baked sweet potato, pickled corn, white, red and black beans and activated buckinis with rosemary and lime dressing.

Vegan Pizza
Where from:
Mandala Organic Arts Cafe
When that pizza craving hits, make haste to Mandala Organic Arts Cafe in Mermaid Beach and indulge in one of their famous vegan pizzas. Made using a wholemeal spelt base, the pizzas are loaded with rustic pumpkin, leafy greens, toasted walnuts, caramalised Spanish onion, kalamata olives, nut cheese and fresh herbs. Even if you’re not vegan, with so many delicious flavour combinations on offer you won’t miss the meat. If your pizza craving happens to coincide with a Tuesday, Mandala Organic Arts Cafe does all you can eat pizza for $20. All. You. Can. Eat.

Raw Dessert
Where from: Blendlove
Blendlove’s desserts are vegan, gluten-free and cane sugar free and only use whole ingredients such as nuts, raw cacao powder, fruits and coconut products so you can enjoy guilt-free. Each of the perfectly prepared portions of white choc peppermint, lime and coconut and creamy vanilla scattered with macadamia nuts will have you torn. Dessert without guilt is win win in our book.
