Iced-latte Coco Pops and epic toasties at Southport’s newest cafe Randy Wallhole

Taking you right back to your childhood, Randy Wallhole in Southport dishes up cereal cups filled with Fruit Loops and Coco Pops. If you’re in need of a real energy, have it over an iced coffee. That’s multitasking at its finest.

Judging from the name Randy Wallhole, you can pretty much assume this is no ordinary cafe. The quaint hole-in-the-wall space is the work of Ty Kudla and is decked out with an eclectic mishmash of furniture including a bright orange couch affectionately referred to as the randy couch and a gallery wall to showcase local creative talent. Naughty By Nature and miscellaneous other ’90s hip hop heavyweights resonates through the narrow establishment creating a cool vibe that makes you feel right at home, which is precisely what Ty set out to do.

The cafe brews Toby’s Estate Woolloomooloo blend as well as a mean cold brew that will put a little pep in your stride. If you’re feeling a touch peckish, Randy Wallhole offers simple but tasty bites including eight kinds of bagels, jaffles, salads and a couple of quirky and nostalgic items that will immediately take you back to a time when the toughest decision you had to make was whether to have the chocolate or strawberry Snack Pack (they have both at Randys, fyi). The Ruby with pastrami, gherkins, swiss cheese and Randy’s special sauce is pretty hard to go past, unless of course you don’t mind exhausting your entire daily kilojoule count in one meal, in which case the Black & Yellow bagel loaded with Nutella, Peanut Butter, banana and pretzels is right up your alley.
