Want fries with that shake? Miami Marketta opens drag-queen drive-through

Businesses everywhere have been forced to adapt to the changing face of the COVID19 crisis but rather than shut up shop and admit defeat, Emma Milikins and the Marketta team have come up with a cheeky way to keep the operators running whilst spreading a little joy and happiness in the process. Ladies and gents, say hello to your new favourite takeaway experience.

If you like it low and slow with a side of sass, Miami Marketta’s drag-queen drive-through is right up your alley. What the heck is a drag-queen drive-through we hear you ask? Well, it’s just like a regular drive-through except instead of the prepubescent kid you may find at a fast-food joint, you’ll be greeted by some of the feistiest and most fabulous femmes you’re likely to encounter, and encounter you will. It’s the closest thing we can get to dinner and a show right now so we’ll take it!

Most of your favourite Marketta morsels are available to take away including low and slow brisket rolls topped with rocket, parmesan, tomato chutney and drizzled with white Alabama sauce, perfectly crisp woodfired pizzas loaded with smoked ham, salami, Italian sausage and mushrooms, karaage chicken rice bowls and hefty serves of nachos. Be sure to leave room for a decadent dessert box from Reid St Kitchen, which contains bite-sized pieces of salted caramel brownie, mini choc-caramel cheesecake and tiny lamingtons. If a cheeky tipple is on the cards (once you get home, of course), great news – you can get that too! Pick up a bottle of plonk or sip a Purple Haze margarita, espresso martini or pink French, which are available in two- or five-serve bottles. Miami Marketta’s drag-queen drive-through is open from 5:00–8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights and is a real iso treat. Do yourselves a favour and drive on in.
