Tuck in to Biscoff crumpets and brekkie tacos by the beach at Currumbin’s Kinship Cafe

Whether it be a quick morning coffee or a long lunch date, a brew with a view makes a cafe pit stop infinitely better. You’ll be gifted with an absolutely breathtaking outlook at Currumbin Beach’s Kinship Cafe, the new kid on the ocean’s edge. Owned by Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club, this small but mighty newcomer is well worth checking out. Just remember to bring your swimmers for a post-brekkie dip …

Underneath Currumbin’s SLSC’s new Nippers hub (just across from the Currumbin SLSC) is where sandy-footed southern Gold Coasters will find their new neighbourhood nook, Kinship Cafe. The breezy beachside spot, which overlooks the waves crashing in at Currumbin Beach, opened in September in conjunction with Swell Sculpture Festival. Offering all-day brekkie and lunch bites and delicious brews from Social Espresso, this newbie is quickly amassing a loyal following of hungry locals.

The menu is lined with much-loved cafe favourites (we’re looking at you bacon and egg roll, our ol’ faithful), as well as some innovative creations. Early birds can forget about the worm and opt for the brekkie tacos (scrambled egg, diced chorizo, avocado salsa, green onion, coriander and lime), the halloumi, egg and hash burger (fried halloumi, egg, potato hash and chipotle mayo, on a toasted milk bun) or a very decadent Biscoff crumpet. For lunch, feed your famished self with tempura barramundi served with crunchy chips and lemon and aioli, or try the chicken burger made with Southern fried chicken, coleslaw, cheese and chipotle mayo on a toasted milk bun. You can perch on a scattering of tables that look out to Currumbin Beach, or those on the run can grab a pastry, which are sourced from Well Bread & Pastry with cookies from Gold Coast Cookies.

Kinship Cafe is open 6:00 am to 2:00 pm daily. Check out our Stumble Guide for additional information.
