Epic milkshakes and all-you-can-eat pancakes at Gangster and Gatsby Southport
Just when you thought milkshakes had reached their peak of insanity, along comes Gangster and Gatsby in Southport. The new cafe is pushing the boundaries (and your kilojoule count) with its epic Gangster Shakes.
Overflowing with cream, chunks of salted caramel, lashings of sweet, sticky sauce and a Tim Tam wedged precariously in the side, the salted caramel Gangster Shake is as much a feat of engineering as it is a devilishly tasty treat. The mammoth milkshakes are the first taste of the new menu at Gangster and Gatsby, which will also offer fresh, vibrant salads and an array of healthy options to offset any impending food guilt caused by the shake.
Over the next six weeks, the old Cafe Central will be transformed completely into a 1920s speakeasy-style cafe befitting of its new name. The venue’s owner, Sue Armstrong has big plans including all-you-can eat pancake buffets, monthly coffee subscriptions, an evening dessert bar and one more insane milkshake creation that promises to live up to its name, The Godfather. Even though it’s still early days in the Gangster and Gatsby story, all we can say is watch this space because good things are coming.
