Palm Beach cafe Espresso Moto expands with a new Coolangatta venue

Popular Palm Beach eatery and caffeine dispensary Espresso Moto has spread the love further south with a second venue of the same name opening in the heart of Coolangatta. The premises formerly occupied by cafe That Blue House (which is actually a big blue house) has been taken over, injecting the laid-back precinct with a hearty dash of that much-loved Espresso Moto vibe.

It was late 2014 when Espresso Moto first graced us with its cafe-racer-inspired venue, which remains perched along the Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach. While the owners weren’t necessarily on the hunt for a new spot, opportunity knocked and they took over That Blue House on Dutton Street in early July and quickly began works to transform the house to give it an Espresso Moto identity. The same delicious menu, fun atmosphere, killer music (it’s really great) and Allpress coffee that we’ve all come to know and love from Palm Beach has been replicated at Espresso Moto’s new Coolangatta digs.

A new menu is set to drop across both locations shortly, but until then you’ll be sticking your fork into all-day eats like the pulled pork-shoulder burrito jammed with black beans, scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese, sauced with jalapeno and coriander sour cream, alongside sweet delights like the towering banoffee French toast served with lashings of caramel sauce. The fresh-greens bowl with salsa verde, avocado, grilled haloumi (hello) and an activated-charcoal bun is there for those that want to keep it light and colourful, or you can get around the rump sandwich with red-onion jam, Swiss cheese, aioli and a welcome handful of rustic potato rounds.
