The owners of Bam Bam, Custard and Cubby launch a new drive-through dinner concept at Tallebudgera Creek

While Custard Canteen in Tallebudgera is known for its (life-changing) custard tarts, specialty brews and tasty daytime fare, its owners are today launching an exciting after-dark concept – drive-through dinners. The new ‘Drive Thru Din Dins’ offering features a menu of the favourite dishes from Custard and its sibling venues Bam Bam and Cubby Bakehouse, with the team set to sling the dinner eats from the Tallebudgera Creek car park seven nights a week.

A pop-up drive-through has been set up at the front of Custard Canteen’s entrance and, while the cafe is still open by day for on-the-go coffee and eats, the new night trade will see the kitchen ramp up again for dinner with pick-ups available from 4:30–7:30 pm daily. You can swing by in your best iso wear to place your order and hang around in the carpark for a quick few minutes (it won’t take long – the dishes are fast and fresh) or ring ahead on 0474 008 562 and roll straight through the drive-through to pick up and go.

So, what’s on offer? There are Custard favourites like the Bob Burger (free-range beef, Swiss cheese, pickles), Furphy-battered fish and chips, and the crispy buttermilk-prawn po’boy with remoulade on a milk hoagie. You can also get Bam Bam go-tos like nasi goreng, the karaage-chicken rice bowl with house teriyaki and Kewpie, and the Vietnamese hot pork rice bowl with pickled vegetables and nuoc cham. Cubby’s classic Korean sticky-chicken rice bowl with kimchi and pickled cucumber is also there, alongside sweet treats like the self-saucing cookies filled with salted caramel, cream cheese and white chocolate, and the brand-new hot apple and custard pies. Plus, there will still be coffees pouring alongside hot chocolates, chai lattes and decadent thickshakes.

Drive Thru Din Dins at Custard will run seven days a week from the Tallebudgera Creek car park from 4:30–7:30 pm. Head to Custard’s Instagram to view the menu and suss the ordering details.
