Lined with crisp white cabanas that are draped with sheer white curtains, the Gold Coast’s newest waterfront watering hole resembles something you might stumble upon in Ibiza or the Greek Islands. The handiwork of Joey Lamattina, the man behind Platinum Nightclub, and Carlo Percuoco, one of the owners of Ristorante Fellini, Cocoon Ultralounge has upped the ante to deliver a sophisticated new venue that offers a plentiful menu of molecular cocktails craft beers and share plates. Claim one of the cabanas and nosh on a selection of sushi cocoons, seared haloumi or sizzling hotplates of grilled sirloin steak, just be sure to leave room for a serving of the mojo picon pork skewers that are described on the menu as ‘sex on a stick’.

The deck offers magnificent views over the river and provides the perfect place to while away sunny afternoons with a beverage in hand while inside, the marble-clad establishment and sunken bar offers a refined and sophisticated setting for your evening enjoyment. In the centre of the room, the turntable set-up takes pride of place and offers patrons a hint as to what they can expect come nightfall.
