Box Coffee Co opens its doors in Southport

Once upon a time cafes were confined to four-walled venues filled with neat, matching tables and chairs. Now, thankfully, open-minded folks are finding new ways to deliver caffeine to the masses. Box Coffee Co in Southport has opened the doors of a converted shipping container that is conveniently positioned on the corner of Olsen Avenue and Melia Court.

Curious passers-by have been pondering about the corner’s interesting new addition since it popped-up last week but now the coffee beans are out of the bag. Box Coffee Co is brewing up fresh Bun Coffee from Byron Bay and a baking a selection of wholesome house-made snacks and sweet treats from the urban-inspired premises. Open from 6:00 am, Box Coffee Co has already become a mandatory pit-stop on the way to work and university for locals.

Box Coffee Co is brewing up rich, remarkably smooth and full-bodied organic coffee alongside Brood cold-pressed coffee that is made next door at the neighbouring Southport Sharks, organic iced tea, StrangeLove soft drink varieties, Noahs Juice, SplitRock sparkling natural spring water, Pearl Royal coconut water and Thankyou Water.

The outside wall of the container features a vibrant graffiti mural that was painted by local artist John Kaye and there are a couple of small tables and chairs to pull up a seat while you wait. See our Stumble Guide for opening times.
