By day, All-Time in Mermaid Beach has become a haven for caffeine sippers seeking solace from the daily grind as well as bagel devotees that congregate to enjoy a side of banter with their bite. Since taking over in April of 2020, Jake Ashton has focused on building the daytime trade and learning all of the regulars by name and coffee order. Now, with that box firmly ticked, he’s turned his attention to evenings and debuted All-Time Social, which keeps the doors open of an evening. Here’s everything you need to know about the after-dark offering …

With a resume that boasts stints at Glass Dining and Lounge Bar and The Tropic, among others, All-Time’s owner Jake Ashton has always been drawn to nighttime hospitality venues. As Mermaid’s evening offering continues to grow with the likes of Etsu and the whole Glenelg precinct continuing to thrive, Jake concluded that now was the ideal time to push into nights with the view of creating an intimate speakeasy you can stroll in for a pre-dinner wine and graze at a plate of charcuterie, or end your evening with a nightcap.

In terms of the menu, All-Time offers a selection of small shared plates that draw inspiration from the lively delis of Spain, where quality and community are paramount. Think artisanal cheeses, sliced-to-order cured meats and vibrant antipasti using locally sourced produce. When it comes to the drinks, there’s a selection of spritzes that are ideal for afternoon sipping, alongside six different kinds of margarita and an entire page of espresso-based cocktails, wines, craft beer and spirits. The great thing about All-Time’s cold-brew coffee is that it’s made in house, so Jake has cut the brew time down to ensure maximum flavour without the intense caffeine hit, because we’ve all been there. Oh, and just in case you were wondering, there’s parking underneath!

All-Time Social’s nighttime offering is walk-in only and runs from Thursday through to Sunday from 5:00 pm to late. For regular opening hours, skip over to the Stumble Guide.
