Salud! Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila has finally hit Australian shelves

Celebrity booze is a growing industry. Whether it’s gin from Ryan Reynolds, bourbon from Matthew McConaughey or rum from Bruno Mars, there’s something fun about owning a bottle from your favourite celeb. Many big names have dove into the land of agave, but perhaps most notably model and entrepreneur Kendall Jenner. Kendall’s widely praised 818 Tequila launched in Australia earlier this month (finally!) and we’ve got all of the details on how you can get your hands on a bottle (or two).

Tequila aficionados will be well-versed in the various varieties, but for those less in the know here’s a rundown on 818 Tequila’s offering. The range includes a blanco, resposado and nnejo plus an Eight Reserve – a masterful blend of Anejos aged up to eight years in French and American barrels. 818 Tequila Blanco is an ultra-smooth blend that boasts a bright citrus finish with notes of almond, key-lime pie and toasted coconut, which is rested in French oak barrels for three weeks. The resposado has a smooth caramel finish, with bolder flavours of cooked agave and pecan pie, while the anejo, which is aged for over a year in oak barrels, possesses deep and complex notes of orange peel, chocolate and toffee. The Eight Reserve is 818’s longest resting tequila, bottled in a hand-crafted ceramic decanter and designed to create the ultimate agave-centric experience.

With a focus on sustainability, 818 Tequila is making sure it’s more than just a taste bud-tingling tipple. From the agaves they grow to the production and labelling of the aesthetically-pleasing bottles, 818 is redefining the landscape of sustainable tequila practices. The distillery is run on biomass and solar power to reduce carbon emissions, the bottles are made with recycled glass, and their paper products are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. If the demand in the US and UK is anything to go by, these beautiful bottles are sure to fly off the shelf (as quickly as you’re reading this article), so where can you get your hands on one? You can find 818 Tequila on the shelves of select Liquorland, First Choice and Liquor Market stores, ahead of the nationwide roll out on Wednesday October 4, to all participating retailers.
