The Lifesaving World Championships is the biggest competition in life saving sport worldwide.

The Lifesaving World Championships is the biggest competition in life-saving sport worldwide. This event showcases excellence in lifesaving sport and rescue through different competition events on the beach, in the ocean and in the pool. It attracts the world’s most talented and skilled lifesaving athletes, competing for the title of ‘the world’s best’. Over 5,000 athletes including Olympians and World Champions from youth to masters, and 12,000 supporters from 50 countries will take part in the competition running over 19 days. Beach and ocean events are being held at Kurrawa, Broadbeach and pool rescue events at the world-class Gold Coast Aquatic Centre. The event program will include a spectacular Opening and Closing ceremony, rescue demonstrations, a festival zone with entertainment for your family and friends to enjoy and the historical March Past is not to be missed.
