We’re not ashamed to admit that we’ll walk a good distance to get a great glass of wine. If you also like getting some steps in before you sip, then the Urban Wine Walk is an event you’ll want to strap on your pedometer for. Here’s what’s on offer for the Gold Coast iteration of every oenophile’s favourite day out …

Sure, pub crawls are great and all, but do you know what we love even more? Urban Wine Walks. On Saturday May 11, the streets and laneways of beautiful Burleigh Heads will be bustling with wine lovers as eight of the suburb’s venues transforms into pop-up Urban Cellar Doors complete with a host winemaker. Between 12:00–4:00 pm, ticket holders will be able to embark on a self-guided tour of some of Burleigh’s best tipple temples, popping into each watering hole and tasting a broad array of what Australia’s wine scene is currently producing.

This iteration of the walk will see venues like Hail Mary pair with South Australia’s Alpha Box & Dice, Rosella’s and Konpira Maru Wine Company, The Malibu Racquet Club and Chaffey Bros Wine Co. Also joining the fray is E.L.E, Justin Lane, Kin, Local and Naami alongside producers and makers including In Praise of Shadows (SA), Payten & Jones (VIC), Wangolina (SA), Paralian Wines (SA) and Vino Intrepido (VIC). Each Urban Wine Walk ticket includes three complimentary tastings per producer, a $10 voucher to spend at the starting venue of your choice, as well as a $25 voucher to use when ordering a six-pack from one of the participating winemakers. Round up your walking (and drinking) buddies and get your tickets before they sell out.
