Savour delicacies at The Scotch Egg Club pop-up at The Scottish Prince

We’ve had pop-ups of all kinds on the Gold Coast, from burgers to cheese and even lobster roll pop-ups – but here’s one we haven’t seen before. A scotch egg pop-up. That’s right, scotch eggs as in boiled eggs wrapped in mince and bread crumbs that are deep fried to golden perfection. It’s all thanks to Sydney’s famed Scotch Egg Club (yes, this exists), which will pop up at The Scottish Prince in Palm Beach until the end of April. Bonus – whisky is involved.

The Scotch Egg Club pop-up created quite the stir with Sydney foodies last year, with more than 600 kilograms of scotch eggs pumped out across various locations. Now it’s the Gold Coast’s turn, with the popular pop-up club teaming up with whisky label Dewar’s to bring these traditional delicacies out of the history books and into our mouths. There will be three different varieties of scotch eggs on offer, paired with single-malt whiskies and special whisky-tasting flights of Dewar’s best.

There’s a classic scotch egg made with black pudding that’s coated in panko crumbs and served with a whisky and mustard aioli. Second in the line-up is the pork scotch egg, created with pork and fennel sausage, sage and thyme, topped with a whisky, tomato and fig chutney. Don’t do meat? No sweat – there’s a truffled-mushroom and parmesan scotch egg on the menu too, served with lashings of a delicious whisky and gherkin aioli.

The Scotch Egg Pop-Up is running at The Scottish Prince until the end of April.
