Enjoy an authentic Asian-food experience at Southport’s Chinatown Street Markets

Foodie friends, if you’re well overdue for an adventure, then take yourself on a culinary journey around the Orient and enjoy an authentic Asian-food experience at the Chinatown Street Markets. Held on the first Saturday of each month in Southport’s Chinatown, the bustling cultural market is an inspiring celebration of fresh and authentic food, featuring a blend of cuisines, aromas, sights and sounds from across Asia.

The Chinatown Street Markets, located on Southport’s Young and Davenport Streets, showcases a melting pot of extraordinary tastes food from China, Japan, Persia, India, Vietnam, The Philippines and Korea. Grab a group of friends and bring the family along to sample the delicious cuisines from Chinatown’s authentic restaurants and tasty market stalls, as the precinct comes alive with cultural vibes, activities, live entertainment and elaborate lion dancer shows!

The family-friendly market runs from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the first Saturday of the month in the heart of the revitalised Southport CBD, and coincides with extended trading hours from local restaurants and retailers. Now, the irresistible aromas of the traditional Asian cuisines understandably attracts big numbers of hungry Gold Coasters, so you’d best catch the G:Link direct to Southport station. Or, if you’d prefer to jump on your bike, then you can get a free bicycle maintenance check while you’re there. Oh, and in a bid to reduce waste, bottled water won’t be sold at the Chinatown Street Markets – but free refills will be available, so BYO water bottle, pals!
