The inaugural Cooly Beachfest has arrived to bring beats and brews to the Quiksilver Pro
Anyone who’s ever been to the iconic Quiksilver Pro (and even those who haven’t) can attest to the fact that the event is the real deal when it comes to celebrating surf culture. Some of the world’s best athletes come out to play, shredding the waves of Cooly Beach like it ain’t no thing. Well, the powers that be have decided that one of the coolest sporting events in the world can actually get cooler – brace yourself for the first-ever Cooly Beachfest, taking over Queen Elizabeth Park on Saturday March 18 with the unbeatable combo of music, surf, sun and sand.
Taking place at roughly the midway point between the upcoming Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro competitions, the inaugural Cooly Beachfest is bringing a veritable tidal wave of musical talent to seriously level up an already hotly anticipated event. Last year’s Triple J Hottest 100 number ones The Rubens are headlining, alongside sets from the likes of The Beautiful Girls, Dorsal Fins, Bec Sandridge and The Vanns. The all-Aussie line-up will be playing tunes from mid-afternoon, serenading onlookers to the backdrop of a breathtaking Coolangatta sunset.
As well as an outstanding music offering, Cooly Beachfest will also be enhancing the festival experience with a bunch of extra bits and bobs that haven’t been seen at the Quiksilver Pro before. Punters can get amongst a carefully curated selection of food and market stalls, as well as fully licensed bars to keep the good times rolling well into the night. Adding an extra element of cool is the festival’s endorsement by a living surf legend – world champion and certified major dude Rabbit Bartholomew is stoked to see Cooly Beachfest come to fruition, signing on as an official ambassador for the brand-new event.
If your life could do with a serious dose of good vibes, you can pick up tickets to Cooly Beachfest through the official website.
