After six years of planning, design and development, Elements of Byron Resort & Spa has finally come to fruition. The luxurious beachfront project opened on February 1 and features 103 private villas set amidst 22-hectares of native bushland.

Perched on a prime parcel where Belongil Creek meets the ocean, Elements of Byron Resort & Spa has sprung to life. The world-class resort features modern Australian beach architecture inspired by mother nature and while it’s not technically an eco-resort, Elements of Byron has been designed with a ‘nature first’ approach. This unconventional approach resulted in a development footprint of only 10 percent, single storey dwellings and the installation of over 65,000 new native trees.

Each of the 103 one- and two-bedroom villas are a contemporary and luxurious interpretation of the classic fibro beach shack while the centerpiece of the beachfront resort, the expansive main pavilion, brings together all the elements of Byron. Open and inviting, it houses the reception and the venue’s brand new restaurants – Graze, Barefoot Kiosk, Drift Bar and Mixed Dozen Restaurant, which is expected to open mid-2016. The open layout cascades through to the lagoon pool, fire pit, spa and conference facilities beyond. Later this year, the Elements of Byron train, which will take guests and the general public between Byron township, Sunrise Beach and the Byron Arts Estate, will commence. 2017 will see the completion of the Stage 2 development, which includes the remaining 96 villas and an eco education centre with a permaculture focus.
