Pavement Whisper: Lulu Rooftop & Bar is set to open this spring
After what feels like a particularly frosty winter, we’re starting to get our first glimmers that spring is on its way. In news that is guaranteed to have you yearning for sun-drenched afternoons sipping cocktails, Surfers Paradise is set to score a brand-new rooftop watering hole called Lulu. Here’s what we know so far …
Perched on level two above Orchid Avenue in Surfers Paradise, Lulu Rooftop & Bar is set to become the ultimate destination for a party-centric atmosphere with a touch of retro glam. Transforming the former Sofi Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, the new venue is set to blend Miami’s electric art deco style with the beachside charm of the Gold Coast and feature vibrant, modern aesthetics adorned with rich green plants and eye-catching designs. This new hotspot will have capacity for 279 guests, spanning 180-sqm indoors and 227-sqm outdoors.
We’re told the venue will feature a rotating line-up of amplified fun, including a boozy frose wall, Sunday brunches and live entertainment. DJs will bring a mix of genres to the space every Thursday to Sunday, from sun-kissed days with laid-back house tempos that roll into peak sunset nu-disco sessions and finishing with a late-night, high-octane landscape of house and tech house headliners.
