Surf Witches Beach Clean-Up and Community Fundraiser

Surf Witches Beach Clean-Up and Community Fundraiser brings together individuals from all walks of life to celebrate a love for the ocean and a heartfelt commitment to the beautiful place we live. Scheduled for Sunday August 4, the event welcomes participants of any age and gender to join in a series of engaging activities.

Starting at 8:30 am, attendees can partake in a surf-inspired stretch session led by Cecilia, with participants advised to bring their own towels or yoga mats. Following this invigorating start, the focus shifts to a beach clean-up organised in collaboration with the Surfrider Foundation, providing gloves and bags for volunteers. The effort is not just about tidying up the beach but also fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among participants.

A highlight of the event is the post-clean-up gathering, featuring a delightful morning tea and an eagerly anticipated mega raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit two deserving local organisations: the Surfrider Foundation and The Sanctuary Women, Children & Pet’s Refuge, with all funds raised evenly split between them.

Acknowledging the crucial support behind the scenes, Surf Witches express gratitude to City of Gold Coast’s Division 14 Councillor, Gail O’Neill, for her financial backing, which has been instrumental in bringing this community-focused initiative to fruition.

This event not only aims to beautify Greenmount Beach but also to nurture a sense of community pride and responsibility towards preserving our natural environment. It promises to be a morning of camaraderie and purpose, underscoring the power of collective action in making a positive impact locally.
