Have a picnic among the lavender fields at this lush mountain winery

It’s all happening this winter at Sirromet Wines, the famed family-owned winery situated at picturesque Mount Cotton. Activities are aplenty, but our pick of the bunch is its newly announced lavender picnics. This special experience will see you and your crew perch amongst the lavender fields while you sip and snack the day away.

While you’re probably all over the news that Sirromet is currently hosting romantic fire pit and hamper experiences under the stars, the team has also just announced another new offering – lavender picnics. Kicking off this July, this feast among the flowers will transport you to English countrysides afar, with fields of lavender as far as the eye can see (and the nose can smell).

Floral-loving frolickers will be able to book a thoughtfully arranged picnic spot, with a plush picnic rug awaiting your seat, while a shady umbrella and rustic barrel table completes the setting. You’ll be greeted with a jam-packed hamper brimming with locally sourced meats, cheese, crackers and sweets to nibble on. You’ll also get a bottle of Sirromet select wine to cheers with, so make sure you’ve shotgunned not being designated driver. Take a stroll through the lavender fields after you’ve had your fill of delicious eats and live your best flower-child life.

Sirromet’s lavender picnics are running every Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 am, from July 1 to October 1. A $149 hamper is suitable for two people and bookings can be made at the Sirromet Wines website
