O.P.I. collaborates with Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful

With a history of celebrating movie releases with collaborative new collections, US nail polish architect O.P.I. has put its artist palette to the test once again, formulating a collection to match new Disney film, Oz: The Great and Powerful.

Following collections pair with Skyfall, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Muppets and even a range fit for vintage Minnie Mouse to sport, O.P.I. has released its spring/summer offering of three sheer neutral shades, three glitter coats and one liquid sand addition. The mainstay of the collection is the names given to each polish, like the pinky white Don’t Burst My Bubble and peachy beige Glints Of Glinda. When Moneys Fly! is a gold glitter polish, while Which Is Witch? is a silver shade with iridescent sparkles. A vivid bronze liquid-sand polish adds texture to the collection – reminiscent of the Wicked Witch melting into sand in the original film – which can either be left foreign and bumby to touch or smoothed with an overcoat.

Oz: The Great and Powerful is the film prequel to the 1939 Wizard of Oz, and will be released locally this Thursday March 7.  The film is directed by Sam Raimi and stars James Franco as The Wizard, Michelle Williams as Glinda the Good Witch of the South, and Mila Kunis as Theodora the future Wicked Witch of the West.
