From her second collection entitled ‘Misteria’, Ana’s label Diaz showcases a heavy love for 1970s shapes and tailoring through sumptuously draped pants, wide-leg jeans and a whimsical flow to dresses and skirts. Diaz was inspired by the Giallo genre of Italian cinema in the collection – a film category from the 1960s that was marked by its highly stylised thrillers and glamorous victims.

Diaz’s collection ‘Misteria’ takes inspiration from these films with its 1970s-style structure with a glamorous edge. There is also a cartoonish element to her designs that make them both wearable and fun. Bright outlandish colours pop against her printed t-shirts – try the salmon swan skirt or purple blade coat and you are sure not only to brighten up an outfit, but make yourself smile.

Diaz was also one of only two designers chosen for collaboration with high-street retailer Sportsgirl, proving that she has not only a mind for creativity, but a nous for the business side of fashion. As a result, parts of her Misteria collection will be sold as a capsule in Sportgirl stores nationwide.

The Diaz label has a number of stockists throughout Australia, Queenslanders can purchase her creations from Brisbane’s Violent Green or Miss Mansfield on the Sunshine Coast.
