Wine and dine in style at Rosalie’s Hummingbird Bar & Restaurant

The intimate cluster of eateries in Rosalie’s main dining strip is about to welcome a smart newcomer – the sustainability focused Hummingbird Bar and Restaurant. Opening on Friday July 14, Hummingbird will look to bring a slice of inner-city style to the suburbs and immediately add a seasonal flair to the area’s eating options.

Anyone that lives a zone or two away from the inner city knows that it’s not always fun trekking inwards to enjoy a night out every week. That’s why suburban hubs – like the popular precinct on Baroona Road in Rosalie – are incredibly important to Brisbane’s food scene. Seeing as these congregations of eateries and bars are the lifeblood of any thriving dining scene, it’s a real buzz when a newcomer pops up outside the usual metropolitan catchment. Hummingbird Bar & Restaurant is a new multi-faceted venue that is bringing a slice of inner-city chicness to the west side of town – showcasing a menu of Modern Australian-meets-European cuisine with fine-dining touches.

Hummingbird prides itself on only using the freshest ingredients, which have been sourced daily from local providores. With a strong base of produce to draw upon, the kitchen team has put together an impressive menu that blends intricate flavour pairings across breakfast, lunch and dinner. We’re drooling at the sound of dishes like butter-poached red claw yabby with smoked bacon, charcoal-grilled calves liver, shitake mushroom tortellini, loins of venison, and black treacle parfait – and that’s only the lunch and dinner menu! If you arrive early on weekends you can sit down and leisurely snack on breakfast dishes like house-cured salmon, haloumi and green pea fritters, Spanish baked eggs, and banana and candied walnut bread. The bar is amply stocked with a mix of local and international wines, craft beer and spirits, with a sublime list of classic cocktails pairing well with the charcuterie offering. Oh, did we forget to mention? Yes, there will be charcuterie as well.

Sounds pretty good, right? Hummingbird Bar and Restaurant will be kicking things off from 4:00 pm on Friday July 14. Check out the Stumble Guide for more details.
