Chomp down on some Getta Burger in West End

Brent and Amy Poulter have come a long way from their humble food truck beginnings to recently opening their third burger joint in Brisbane. Getta Burger in West End offers the juiciest burger choices served in a comfortable bar atmosphere.

After taking over Bridgeman Downs and Carina with its hefty offering, the team behind Getta Burger set its sights on making a mark in Brisbane’s inner suburbs. Deciding that West End would be the perfect spot to open their third Getta Burger restaurant, Brent and Amy Poulter set about making sure it boasted a few new features to set it apart from what Getta Burger had done in the past. Located on Brereton Street in a space formerly occupied by a catering company, this new joint boasts an overhauled interior with rustic touches such as a new concrete bench, exposed brick walls (painted yellow, as is Getta Burger custom), deep red leather booths and other vintage flourishes. The kitchen was upgraded with a new imported smoker and now is the main production hub for all three Getta Burger locations.

Getta Burger prefers to make burgers ‘the hard way’, ensuring the process brings out the best product possible. Meat is ground from whole beef rumps, smoked on site alongside the sauces and relishes, which are made in house. The dine-in and takeaway menu features all of Getta Burger’s favourites such as the Pig Out, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, BBQ Melt and Boss burgers, plus the signature Filthy Fries topped with smoked brisket, grilled onion, maple bacon and cheese. The West End location is the first Getta Burger spot to have a liquor license, serving a range of bottled beers from local breweries such as Stone & Wood and Newstead Brewing as well as internationals Pabst Blue Ribbon and Coors. Red and white wines and ciders from Pressmans and Matilda Bay are also available. Those looking for something sweet should sample the must-try Apple Pie or Cherry Pie shakes.
