Fluid Festival 2014

Fluid Festival 2014 celebrates craft beer

More than 50 taps flowing with craft beer and cider may sound like a divine vision, but team it with knowledgeable experts, a matched menu and free entry, and you have yourself a deliciously educational day at the annual Fluid Festival.

It’s certainly going to be one hell of a fluid motion bringing samples of ice-cold craft beer and cider to our lips in the scorching 36°C heat predicted for Saturday January 25. The annual Fluid Festival will be back again, delivering cool refreshments to patrons from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Pig ‘N’ Whistle Riverside on Eagle Street. More than 50 beer and cider taps will introduce palates to a variety of different flavours and styles from all over the country, with a special focus on creations from local Southeast Queensland breweries.

Punters are also invited to participate in free Q&A sessions with the makers behind some of the nation’s best brews, and will be given the chance to chat with the very helpful hops guides manning the stalls in the bar’s courtyard. As a Brisbane beer festival exclusive, keen DIY-ers can also join experts from Little Creatures Brewing and White Rabbit Brewery to craft a special beer on the day, which will be available to sample a month later. The all-grain beer will be made on-site in a 20-litre Braumeister kit imported from Germany.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
