The Star Brisbane adds Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro to its anticipated dining precinct

With the unveiling of Queen’s Wharf just mere months away, we’re finally getting more intel on the names set to take over its hotly anticipated new dining precinct. Today, the The Star Brisbane has announced that a new iteration of Gambaro Group’s beloved Caxton Street steakhouse Black Hide will be joining its jam-packed roster of eateries. In just a few months, Queen’s Wharf will take centre stage as The City’s new epicentre of food, entertainment, accomodation, luxury fashion and green spaces. The new-and-improved inner-city enclave will be anchored by The Star Brisbane, with its impressive development set to soar 100-m in height. Beyond its hundreds of hotel rooms, three swimming pools, grand ballroom and sky deck, The Star Brisbane will be bannered by a diverse dining precinct boasting a number of sensational concepts.

Following the success of Black Hide by Gambaro at Treasury Brisbane, Gambaro Group is set to bring a bit of sizzle to The Star Brisbane’s terrace, opening a new iteration of its Black Hide steakhouse on the riverfront forecourt (which boasts direct access to South Bank via the soon-to-be-opened Neville Bonner Bridge).

“The Star is committed to supporting local suppliers and presenting the best of Queensland,” shares Kelvin Dodt, The Star Brisbane’s chief operating officer hospitality. “And that includes the high-class calibre of restaurateurs such as the Gambaro Group, that will soon call The Star Brisbane home.”

Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro will see the team expand its menu, team and trading times to scale up for the 240-seat location. The refreshed menu is set to include a slew of seafood plates and a tight selection of small dishes to complement the venue’s cocktail-oriented lounge bar. Whilst the space is still under construction, the interior is slated to be a departure from Black Hide’s usual moody scene. The teased restaurant features light timbers and natural materials, with sage-green banquettes and an impressive tree centrepiece. The steakhouse’s woodfired charcoal burners and esteemed chefs at work will also be on display thanks to the open-plan kitchen design.

Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro will sit opposite neighbouring Italian venue Cucina Regina. The Star Brisbane will commence a multi-staged opening from August this year.
