Want to take a well-deserved break from your Christmas shopping and enjoy a dose of festive frivolity? Head to Uptown! It’s here you’ll find a range of dedicated Christmas workshops and events for the whole family to enjoy throughout December. Kicking off the excitement is the Wonderland Workshop series taking place on level one (next to the Wonderland Emporium) from December 1–24. Presented by Brisbane’s very own tinsel queen Rachel Burke, these free family-friendly workshops will run from 10:00 am daily and will cover a number of activities from bauble-making and stocking crafting to gingerbread decorating. Rachel will also host a series of paid workshops where you can create your own festive stun-glasses (December 8 ) or a sparkly crown (December 17), to add to your whimsical Christmas wardrobe. Dreamed of owning one of your very own signature Rachel Burke tinsel jackets? Well, you may just have a chance, as one lucky Uptown shopper will win their very own jacket made out of materials from Rachel’s show-stopping window displays, which are well worth a visit if you haven’t already.

The festive fun continues at the Wonderland Workshop, where you can snap some Insta-worthy selfies in front of a super-fun and sparkly backdrop. You can even elevate your Christmas photo with playful props and bedazzled accessories – no ugly sweaters here. Avoid the late-night Christmas Eve wrapping and let the professionals do the wrapping for you (for a good cause) at the charity gift-wrapping station. Your generous donation will support this year’s charity – Little Stars Foundation and the Rural & Regional Scholarship in Memory of Kate Benjamin. Uptown’s gift-wrapping station will be located outside of Prouds and will be open from 10:00 am daily from December 8–24. Park with ease so you can explore Uptown’s six levels of shops and food offerings with $10 per day online weekend parking and $10 parking after 4:00 pm on weekdays.
