Bookfest Brisbane

Expand your literary family with the Lifeline Bookfest

Avid readers understand that a novel isn’t just a bound assortment of parchment, but a friendly doorway into new worlds of discovery. Filling your own library with the world’s greatest stories has never been so easy (and cost effective) than with the revisit of the Lifeline Bookfest.

With Moby Dick snuggled comfortably alongside a scandalous Jacqueline Susann novel, you’ll find the book fair doesn’t discriminate against its content. All reads can be found under the one roof, no matter your literary interest. Books are stacked neatly for your perusal, with thousands upon thousands on display within the arena that is the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

For ease, the reads are categorised into three distinct sections – high quality, priced and unpriced. High quality refers to reads that are near new and in good condition, as well as books that are considered rare or collectibles. Priced refers to novels that are of a medium quality, while unpriced are those that have been well-loved over the years and may have a few scrapes and tears. The prices of these are decided upon reaching the checkout.

Within each section, books are further separated into distinct categories. There’s Australiana, history, literature, textbooks, travel, economics and philosophy to name a few – essentially every subject under the sun is encountered at the market. Joining the book selection is a range of magazines, stationery, videos, CDs and records to also enjoy. Bookfest will run January 19–28.
