Located on a leafy strip of Gerler Road in Hendra, Better Day is a sun-dappled cafe that is dispensing top-notch specialty coffee and grab-and-go eats. Guests can perch inside Better Day’s minimalist digs (or catch some rays from an outside table) and wax lyrical with their barista about all things coffee – be it flavour profiles, roasting processes, machine settings and the intricacies of blends. A bright-yellow La Marzocco coffee machine pumps out brews using two blends from Coffee Supreme – the malt and chocolatey South blend for milk brews and the sweet and clean Supreme blend for black coffee. On the filter front, Better Day is also serving batch brew and cold-drip coffee, in addition to specialty reserve tea imported from Japan, China and Sri Lanka. As it’s only equipped with a simple kitchen, Better Day’s food menu is tight and favours easy-to-prepare, grab-and-go items. Smashed avocado, ham-and-cheese toasties, croissants and pastries are available alongside five kinds of bagels – we’re talking brekkie bagels with espresso maple-glazed bacon, smoked salmon and Reuben bagels.
