Stones Throw
Stones Throw relocated from its original digs in Burleigh Heads to Currumbin in late 2020 – its new southern iteration dishes up Fonzie Abbott coffee and all-day eats, seven days a week. If you’re after something different for breakfast or brunch, you’re in the right spot. Think coconut-sugar-cured-prawn omelettes with house-made smoked-chilli sambal, a mouth-watering breakfast burrito jammed with potato hash, an omelette, chorizo and a punchy bloody Mary salsa, and sweet treats like raspberry and ricotta souffle pancakes with a berry coulis and creme fraiche. The menu takes a spicy turn at brunch with the Saag Aloo Hash (pan-fried potato and spinach with chilli scrambled eggs, Indian bread and dahl dipping sauce) and the beef-mince rendang, topped with a fried egg and buttered sourdough. There’s also a tree-lined outdoor seating area (just head on through past the kitchen), which is perfect if you’ve got the kids in tow.
