Palm Springs

If you’re a regular traveller north from Burleigh Heads, it’s impossible not to have noticed that the old two-storey Siam Orchid perched on the corner of Gardenia Grove and the Highway has undergone a pretty significant transformation, and by significant we mean a complete rebuild from the bare bones. Palm Springs – a new Los Angeles-inspired cafe bringing sun-soaked Cali-vibes and tasty morning eats (and drinks) to the beachside strip. The menu offers a selection of Southern Californian-style eats such as an authentic breakfast burrito (not a crunchy kebab-style burrito we’ve become accustomed to on the GC), Palms Wholesome Bowl, which is brimming with health and four kinds of burgers. The Gold Coast’s own Therefore Coffee Roasters will be pouring through the crisp white coffee machine alongside a selection of colourful Insta-worthy sips such as golden, matcha and velvet lattes. Fancy something a little harder? Good news, Palm Springs is licensed so you can enjoy a hangover-curing bloody Mary or just dive right in with three different kinds of margarita (chilli, coconut and original). The dreamy, breezy space is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch.
