Blue House

If you’ve ventured to Budds Beach, you’ve more than likely perched at Bumbles Cafe, the suburb’s seriously cute caffeination station and eatery. The venue has just gotten bigger – and a whole lot bluer – thanks to a new next-door addition. Say hello to Blue House, a picturesque cottage where you can while away a few hours with a drink in hand. The perfect venue for catching up with mates over a long lunch and a quaint spot for sunset cocktails, this stunning newcomer looks out to the gorgeous Budds Beach waterfront. Although outside is as pretty as a picture, it’s what’s inside that is sure to catch your eyes. The interior is a mix of eclectic coastal aesthetic and quirky cottage fixtures. Its menu (which will change monthly) is sure to impress with a selection of tasty snacks and larger dinner plates. Diners can lap up small plates like smoked salmon with red pickled onion and creme fraiche, Moreton Bay bug rolls with baby-gem lettuce and sriracha sauce, peking duck pancakes and coconut prawns. Those meeting someone for a dinner date can dig into the likes of haloumi-crumbed chicken schnitzel with sweet potato, broccolini and pomegranate, grilled black-miso salmon with buckwheat noodle salad, pickled ginger and edamame or a belly-warming veal-and-pork lasagne.
