Sens Coffee brings caffeine, karaage waffles and smoothie bowls to Broadbeach

If you’re one to start your morning with a quality dose of caffeine and consider brunch your most important meal of the day, then you’ll want to pop Broadbeach newcomer Sens Coffee on your radar. Like the sound of a karaage chicken-topped waffle stack with bacon, seared apple and plum gravy on the side? Of course you do.

This new addition to the Broadbeach cafe scene sits beneath the Meriton tower on the Gold Coast Highway, though it’s not Sens Coffee’s first rodeo here on the coast. The owners also operate a smaller venue of the same name in Southport, situated beneath Meriton Sundale. Armed with Campos beans, the latest Sens Coffee venue dishes up an all-day food offering covering everything from colourful smoothie bowls to buttery brioche breakfast burgers.

The menu steps a little to the left of your classic cafe fare. While the essentials like avocado on toast, chilli scrambled eggs and French toast make an appearance, it will be hard to look beyond intriguing dishes like the aforementioned karaage chicken waffle stack, the vegetarian eggs Benedict with crispy taro chips and pickled chilli, and the pork belly in master stock with burnt onions, apple, poached eggs and torn fried bread. The lunch menu runs all day, covering lighter options with dishes like the falafel with kale and sauteed cabbage, and the beef bulogi ‘power bowl’ with avocado, green beans, spinach and lotus chips atop brown rice. Just want a burger? Sure thing. The beef variety comes towering with cheese, lashings of herbed aioli and a shiny brioche bun, which will surely fill the gap.
